Another atc using grayscale photo, colored pencils and glass beads. This started out as part of a gift for someone but with work and fixing up the house I'm at my wit's end! I'll have to think of something else fun for a gift.

I thought of this and it cracked me up. I have no idea why. I love it when the answer to a question or phrase is in the actual sentence. There is a word for it but I can't remember what it is.
This is mainly decoupage and embossing. The letters were printed and hand cut (no nifty little die cutter for me).

I finished my first ATC for the "An Interesting Idea Swap". I ended up using one of the papers sent to me. It's made with inks and dyes and lots of UTEE. I cracked it to give it an aged feel. It's titled "The Forgotten Memory"

I received the items I will need to use in the "Interesting Idea Swap" the other day (above). It's organized through the yahoo group ATC_World. For the swap, you have to come up with four cards each using at least one of the items I received. I'm not really sure how I'm going to come up with four related cards with those items. I was going to use the word IDEA and make a card for each letter but I'm having trouble coming up with ideas that will work.
This is a little harder than I thought it would be. I think it's also because the items I received (except for paper) are not items I normally use for my atc's. I have until mid-March to send them in so hopefully I can come up with something good before then.

Valentine Swap

I got an invite through Flickr to join in on a Valentine's Day Postcard Swap. We were to create 10 postcards (valentine related of course) and mail one to each of the people we were assigned. I got excited due to the fact I received three foreign addresses. I had never mailed anything outside the country before! I guess I misunderstood the explanation when I first read the guidelines because I though we were suppose to make actual postcards to send through the mail. I was worried about the condition they would be in once they reached their destination. Everyone seemed to be putting them in envelopes for protection so I did the same.
I thought about putting the same image/design on all the postcards but it didn't really seem like much of a challenge to do that. So I came up with 10 unrelated cards. I ended up creating an additional one for the host, so 11 in all. I'm still waiting to receive three postcards but so far. They have all looked great! It's so much fun to go to your mailbox and find things other than bills!

Hearts Galore - This was the card I was most disappointed in but it seems to have been the one that received the biggest response. I punched what felt like fifty million little hearts in different colors. Half of each color were coated with chalk for depth. I made a designed and glued accordingly. I sealed the top and edges to protect the final image.

Candy Hearts - This design was made from pages in a magazine. I cut them out and collaged accordingly.

Hearts and Flowers - Corner and woman stamps are by Stampabilities. Woman stamp is colored in with colored pencils. Collaged accordingly.

Truly - Vintage image printed on transparency. Collaged accordlingly.

Stained Glass - Crystalline tissue paper and acrylics. Black lines are an accent liner meant for glass and ceramics. I had trouble getting it to stay on.

Admiration - Collage with vintage image.

Beauty - Vintage black and white image colored with watercolor. Decoupage flower (left over from Be Mine). Collaged accordingly.

Daydream - Collage with vintage image.

Love - Vintage wallpaper design printed on transparency. Placed on top of collage.

Be Mine - Flowers are a napkins decoupaged onto beige card stock. Background is layered clear gesso and fragile crackle with copper pressed into the cracks.

She Kissed Me - Collage with vintage image.

Mood: Nauseous with worry

I think I have officially lost my wedding ring. The last time I remember wearing it is last Saturday. I had cleaned it before we went out to dinner and put it on right before we left. I always put it in three different places when I take it off. I can't fathom that I took it off in a different place than my watch. That's not routine. I have searched above below and around everywhere I can think off.
