I've been practicing hoping to improve my drawing skills. I think I'm slooooowly getting better. I still can't draw people worth beans but I'm ok with that. This piece (mine is the right one) was based off a watercolor picture I found on the internet (on the left). Not really sure who did it. I just saw the image and tried to capture it. I think I did okay. It probably would have looked a lot better had I used watercolor instead of colored pencil but too late for that now.
This got bashed in my critque group. They said the background was too stong and it competed with the flowers and my lack of color saturation got mentioned as well. I haven't quite got that down yet. I'm still working on getting the colored pencils "right" . I used a colorless blender marker on this one. I may go back later and try using a colorless pencil and see if I can get it to make a difference or maybe I might just leave it alone so I can see my progress. I haven't decided yet.
UPDATE: I reworked this and came up with results a little better. It was received better in my critique group as well.
