I hate movies that make me cry!

That's exactly what the movie The Soloist did, too. I bawled like a little baby! Bawling aside though, it's an excellent movie. I'd would definitely recommend it to anyone.

The movie is based on the true life story of a friendship born between a Los Angeles journalist and the homeless Julliard-trained musician he happens upon while looking for a newsworthy article.

While I've always been a fan of Robert Downey, Jr. (playing the journalist) I've never really cared for Jamie Foxx (playing the homeless man). However, after seeing this movie there is no denying what a skilled actor Foxx truly is. Just the expression on his face the first time he played the cello was enough to win me over.

This is one of those movies everyone should watch at least once. Granted, I greatly doubt I will ever watch it again since it makes me cry but I'm certainly glad I watched it.

Do what you love and the rest comes on it's own

I've been wanting to see this for weeks but everytime I go to Redbox to rent it, it's out! That must mean it's really good. Hopefully I'll get to see it soon.

Same here. We ended up watching it on pay per view because it was always sold out. Let me know what you think of it when you get the chance to watch it!

Thanks for the review. It's been on PPV and I've been wanting to see it but wasn't sure about it. I'm going to see it now.

I LOVE RDJ. He is fabulous. Even his not so good movies are really good. heh! If all else fails, you can turn the sound off, and just watch him move around on the screen. :)

Freaky! We just talked about renting this one last night! I just know it will be worth it, I love both actors and the story itself is so inspirational!

I love them both (RDJ and Jamie Foxx) and I knew I had to watch the movie. They were both so good... how could you not cry? I did too... and the movie is somehow still with me, even after a week. Really good.
